TWISTEd GENDER ROLE
The Twisted Gender Role Calendar project was created by Julia G. in 2016. The goal of the calendar is a reflection of the thinking and perception of gender roles in public, advertisement and society. Sometimes, we don’t see pictures because they seem to be normal to us. But are these pictures really showing normal things or is it a border, which – for example – advertisements cross in many ways?
By changing the sex of the model and person in advertisements and everyday life, it is possible for the viewer to change their point of views. Why are some pictures in advertisement disturbing and some seems attractive? Why is it the position of a body of a different sex than usual that can disturbe us so much? Maybe the Twisted Gender Role doesn’t give you answers for these questions – you have to find them for yourself – but it gives you the chance to take a different look at pictures, that you maybe haven’t recognize in this way.

Durch immer mehr Konsum und falschen Bildern von Liebe, Erotik und Sex glauben wir zu wissen, wie es geht. In der Praxis merkt man allerdings recht schnell, was uns tatsächlich an Wissen fehlt. Sex, Körper und vor allem Befriedigung wirken wie gesellschaftliche Tabus, über die nicht gesprochen werden darf.
